All because he called to you one way, does not mean everyone else he called to differently is doomed.
when you accept the bible you do not only accept that Jesus was God. Before that you accept that God, himself, spoke to the disciples. Namely Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Before that you accept that you accept that God, himself, spoke to the prophets of the Old Testament. That he spoke to the kings of Israel. God, himself, spoke directly to Moses, Jacob and Abraham.
If God has spoken directly to so many people before you, why do you not believe he would speak to you directly? Ears are adaptive by necessity to focus on certain sounds. Maybe, you have yet to truly open your ears to focus on his silence.
