An elected official is a representative. A representative should be a best foot set forward. The floor of tolerance for this matter must align with the base of interaction: common sense. This can be put simply. The representative of the common man ought to meet the standards, morality, responsibility and intellectual capability of the common man.
Imagine a militia if ethics under direct sovereignty of the Judiciary branch. The singular shackle upon its designed ousted. A king cannot reign over a document that outlives them. The people must make the constitution and legislation relevant again. Words ring hollow without action to propel forward.
Our opponent is no king. However, as a country we face one.
