Desires v Character

DJ often would tell me that you should not chase the money, but rather become someone that the money will chase.

I find this to be ingenious. Becoming the receptor for your goals will certainly place the things you desire into your life. Luck is a recipe of positioning and probability. If you position yourself properly, the universe will present you with the opportunity to seize your goals. Fate favors the prepared.

We must not overlook the process necessary to make this feasible. My goal has always been to reach my perfect self, the version of self most akin to the values of good nature. In order to bridge this gap between the current and the perfect self, there are certain stages you must complete.

You must hold an acute view of what defines you. Perfection begins at the base. The core of your being that you know to be pure, intentional and essential to your character must be held with reverence. The surrounding pieces may fluctuate and evolve. These core aspects may evolve with your values, but never should be forsaken at the command of others.

You must examine objectively what your desires and goals entail. If the requirements to achieve them do not align with your values, then maybe they are not what you truly desire. Conversely, if the requirements are not naturally imposed, then it is imperative to forge a path that does align with your values.

You must remain firm. The anime "Bleach" often hinged upon the concept of resolve. Here are three quotes that exemplify this mentality.
